Projects

Projects we support

We provide financial support to projects by other initiators when they help bridge divides through stories, knowledge or encounters. The Divide by Maurits Chabot is the first project we support.

Currently supported project

The Divide

What the foundation supports

The foundation supports this project by Maurits Chabot financially; he carries it out himself. The aim is to share the stories and gather new experiences of bridging divides, not simply to promote the book.

International launch

We help make the international launch of Over de Kloof, published in English as The Divide, possible through financial support in the United Kingdom and United States.

Three months in the United States

We contribute financially to Maurits Chabot’s stay of around three months in the US for the book launch, talks, meetings with bridge-builders and gathering new journalistic stories about connection.

This describes the support and planned activities. Not all talks, encounters, dates and venues have been confirmed or booked.

The Divide

Seven true stories of compassion and connection

The Divide is the English translation of Over de Kloof by Maurits Chabot. It tells seven true stories of people bridging deep social or interpersonal divides. The stories are set in places including Rwanda, the Israeli-Palestinian context, Oslo and the United States.

Under consideration

Possible conversation and media projects

The board is exploring a proposal from an external initiator for conversations and media projects that bring people together. The format has not yet been decided: it could be a podcast, a conversation series or other channels. The foundation could support such a project financially; the initiator would then carry it out.

This is an exploration, not an adopted project. No budget has been set and there are no confirmed partners.
