Maurits Chabot has left for America: The Divide’s journey has begun!

Maurits Chabot has left for the United States. His journey for The Divide begins in New York; the English-language e-book was published on 13 October 2026; the hardcover will be published in the US on 10 November 2026.

During a stay of approximately three months, the focus will be on conversations with bridge-builders, talks about his book and visits to the people he portrayed in it. The English translation of Over de Kloof brings the seven true stories of compassion and connection to a new audience.

The provisional itinerary runs from New York through Kentucky, Florida, Texas, Wyoming and Oregon to California. The route may change; specific talks, venues and other activities will only be listed once confirmed.

The journey aligns with Stichting Depolarisatie’s mission: sharing stories that spark curiosity and create space for contact across divides. We are following developments and will share further updates once confirmed.

Maurits visited his publisher in New York and wrote about signing:

“I got to sign on the 20th floor, with a view of Manhattan. It was good!”
